Let Me Down Easy

Im Not A Whore

Sibling rivalry can go one of two ways; it can either be paralysing or it can be a catalyst to greatness. For indie pop Brisbane band Sheppard, it was a rivalry that sparked the formation of a group like no other. Born from a strong family foundation; George, Amy and Emma Sheppard perform with a desire to artistically and creatively express their take on the world and to engage the youth that live within it. The family holds a strong bond to Papua New Guinea, where George, Amy and Emma grew up. It was after relocating to Australia that the three siblings began discovering their unique musical talent and ability to play a variety of musical instruments. It wasn’t long until the family discovered the talents of Sydney musician/songwriter Jason Bovino. Jay was quickly recruited as a valuable member of the songwriting team. The group soon grew to a gang of six when they saw great potential in musicians Michael and Jared.

Sheppard have amassed a strong international following and are constantly developing their local presence, infiltrating the music scene with their alternative indie pop sound and youthful vulnerability. In July 2012, they embarked on a world tour, playing the Oppi Koppi festival in Johannesburg, The Wilderness Festival in the London and Summer Stage in Central Park, NYC. Compared to the likes of Coldplay, Fleetwood Mac, and Ellie Goulding by both AOL and MTV, this is something you won’t want to miss out on. Rounding off the tour with a full house at LA’s Viper Room, Balcony TV, Altsounds and MTV Buzz are some of the many blogs hinting at big things after their handful of shows around the world.

In recent months, their track ‘Let Me Down Easy’ has been played over 20 times on influential Portland station KNRK, with the track added to many other stations across the US. This November, they set off on a tour of India playing the Bacardi NH7 Weekender festival in Pune, as well as shows in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore. The band have a growing fan base of over 75,000 Facebook fans across the world. To date they have written and produced over 30 tracks, and continue to impress audiences with an ongoing supply of new material. Sheppard. Six big kids in one creative family, bound by the love they have for music.

Sheppard’s 1st EP is out through MGM in Australia and available for digital release through Ingrooves Digital.

“I’m Not A Whore”…one of the best post break up songs to come along in recent years… ‐ Golden Mixtape

“Sheppard’s combination of feel good melodies and quirky, tongue‐in‐cheek lyrics have so far managed to capture my attention with each subsequent listen to the album… Sheppard are indeed a band in every way deserving of all their recent and future success.” – 8.9 / 10 The Au Review
