Singer/songwriter Hein Cooper’s 2016 debut album “The Art of Escape” landed in the positive graces of the Australian music industry, with 3 singles on Triple J, including “Rusty” streaming over 8 million. This led to a highly successful international campaign, performing over 140 shows over 18 months throughout Australia, Europe, the US, Canada and the UK, both as a headliner and supporting the likes of artists including James Bay, Lukas Graham & Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in Montreal (as well as performing many festivals worldwide).
Scoring significant rotation across a variety of radio stations throughout Australia via all three singles from ‘The Art Of Escape’ Hein has been Playlisted across 50 stations in UK, 60 in Germany; Heavy rotation on Virgin Radio in France and in the top 100 commercial radio chart, #7 top single of the year at commercial radio in Quebec as a result of performing 1500+ festivals and shows throughout the world including Latitude, Boardmasters & Falls festivals; European sold-out headline tour across Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, Belgium (09/2017)
Hein’s new single, “Hear My Voice” is a song about falsehoods and self-constructed versions of ourselves. Co-Produced by Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, James Hersey) and Hein himself in the UK, the result is fresh; the foundations of Hein’s folk/indie pop styles are still present, though the songwriter has begun exploring other genres such as R’n’b and electronic music, inspired by artists like Frank Ocean and Chet Faker.
Excited to bring this new music back home to Australia, Hein is readying “Hear My Voice” and a collection of new material for upcoming headline shows nationally in April and May. “I think a pop song can be incredibly poetic and still clear, and also be an exciting mix of genres. That’s what I’ve aimed for throughout some of my new music.”
“Hear My Voice” is set for release April 6th 2018 preceding a new album expected later this year.
