Influenced by the sounds of luminaries such as Bon Iver, the Local Natives, James Blake and Tim Buckley, welcome to the world of enigmatic musical word-smith, HEIN COOPER. Although still quite the youngster at just 23 years of age, having initially trekked to Canada earlier in his career, this resulted in a direct signing with that nation’s respected independent label, Indica Records (home to Half Moon Run, The Franklin Electric, Phantogram and many others). Thereafter during 2014, Hein recorded his debut album with legendary producer Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire, The National, The Local Natives etc) with the initial fruits of that recording labour being a recently released EP currently heard across Australia via the stunning lead track ‘The Art Of Escape’.
Right now Hein is wowing audiences across the world having just performed at Canadian Music Week; Britain’s The Great Escape Festival & Sound City Festivals as well as solo shows in Paris & other European territories. However, the great news is that being the all round dedicated performing trouper, Hein will briefly jet back home from his four month world promo tour to perform as special guest of Ash Grunwald via selected dates on his forthcoming tour (see below). Hein will also perform a couple of his own shows and thereafter immediately head off to complete dates in Canada, USA, UK & Europe.
